Kirby's Return to Dream Land (2011, Wii)
This was one of the first Kirby games I remember playing alongside Epic Yarn, but I didn't really remember a whole lot about it compared to that game. With that being said though, this was amazing!!
Honestly might be a top 5 Kirby game-
One thing I can compare this title to is Flower, Sun & Rain, which similarly is very character-driven and carries a heavy amount of tone-shifts, but a title I could still enjoy plenty because of the way story and conflict gave room for breathing but still felt urgency
the sketch vs rendered final for this commission was very fun to look at & compare
Finally done with Ice and Flame and Book 3! Nifl and Muspell were such a pain but I like the effects. I don't like how Alfonse looks in these, maybe cuz his design is so simple compared to the other ones
This might seem like an odd recommendation compared to my usual fare, but Centaurworld was surprisingly good. I was especially impressed with how lively and expressive the animation is. Best of all, it set up and concluded its story without dragging on or getting cancelled early.
