it has occurred to me that the alvin and the chipmunks cartoon on nickleodeon looks like the fan art of realistic pokemon/simpsons/etc where they keep the proportions and silhouette of the character but make their skin/fur and eyes realistic ?? am i making sense ??

I don't dislike these sprites but I do want to highlight these two because they still absolutely hold up in terms of energy and appealing cartoon proportions, especially for sprites that were hand-pixelled rather than starting as drawings

Went for a tighter crop but with the usual proportions I set my prints to. I actually wanted to make it a lot more blue, less saturated, but pretty happy with where it's at now.

And here's the Papo 2008 Humpback from the same range. Again, it has a mobile lower jaw and is great. But its proportions are weird - I think the tailstock should be longer. More another time!

People are really hating on its design.
Personally, i love it. So weird and disproportionate.
And the fact that THIS is the "king pokemon" makes love it even more.

I love contrasts like that. makes things less expected and diverse.

Here yah go :3! main thing to work on for these is proportion and anatomy stuff! Your starting to get forms down, just is gonna take some studies on correct proportions and what muscles are there in addition to how they work! Gesture studies especially will help!

Idk about the first statement. No one mentions this, but I really like the way Sonic looks in TSR. His model seems to be tweaked to look more ideal and expressive. Movie Sonic is so disproportionate and actually taller than Modern Sonic.
