2017: 2B or not 9S... Honorable mention to Night in the Woods but when I finally played Nier in 2020 it wrecked me. I bawled when I took that help. And when the six of us were connected, something happened.

2017: I have to go with Pyre for this one. Pyre was one of the best games I ever streamed. The story is just so phenomenal. Every character is bursting with personality and depth. I felt so immersed in what was going on, and every decision mattered so much to me. Beautiful game.

2017: it's a nice game

2017: Yes this does unironically go over BOTW, Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade 2

2017: an EVEN MORE stacked year and as much as I think BOTW is a perfect game (which it is), A Hat in Time just has so much charm and while Celeste is the pinnacle of 2D platformers, this is the pinnacle of 3D platformers for me. It made MARIO look boring to me!

2017: Night is Short, Walk On Girl

This was a really pretty movie with a very unique style. One of those pieces of media you could pick up on something new with each rewatch.

2017: I can't pick between these two. Sorry

2017: Cuphead

Yeeeeeeah as an artist this felt like a mandatory pick for my favorite game of 2017. Everything about this game’s presentation is perfectly executed and it just works so well for the kind of game it.

2017: Little Witch Academia TV

2017: hard to pick just one from 2017 but probably Persona 5 (even if Royal has since basically made the original release irrelevant)

2017: Another tightly designed (albeit HUGE) and charming action-adventure game, there's a genuine sense of mystery, menace and sadness to it that's hard to describe

2017:
also in 2018, isekai izakaya was good. restaurant to another world reminded me of it
putting boruto here because it started in 2017

2018: Marvel's Spider-Man
2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
2016: DOOM
2015: Shovel Knight Plague of Shadows

2017: Kizumonogatari III

Really strong finisher for what was a great prequel trilogy. Standout segments throughout the whole movie.

Lighter year overall but some goodies:
March Comes in like a Lion S1
Kekkai Sensen & Beyond
SAO: Ordinal Scale
Girls' Last Tour
(More to watch!)

2017: Lotta good stuff came out this year but Sonic Mania is easily the one I come back to the most, first game I got for my Switch and it still hasn't aged a bit

2017: Sonic Mania

do i even need to say anything

2017: Hollow Knight
Gave this game GotY twice because I played it two years in a row and it was worth it both times. Incredible vibe, love the cute bugs, love to jump on a guy and stab him in the head Zelda 2 style.

2017: Nier Automata

My introduction to Yoko Taro! Thematically rich and moody. Taro has such an intriguing relationship to violence in his games and I would love to revisit this after playing more of his other work

2017: TOO MANY GAMES! What a packed year, holy shit. Hollow Knight is my for sure and since I have to limit myself due to image restrictions, I'll include Pyre, NieR: Automata, and Night In The Woods, but there are SO MANY OTHERS from 2017 that I LOVE!
