A troubled man all his life, Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings have inspired millions. He created around 2,100 paintings, nearly half of them in the last two years of his life. Famed for his style, he didn’t actually develop this until he visited Arles, France in 1888.

男の子の服装の中に、ユサール（フッサール）があり、騎兵は皆の憧れだったんだなーと思う。
ちゃんとドルマン風の肋骨服で良き良きと思うのでした。
左のお姉さん12-14歳はさり気に傘を持っていて、大人の服装への憧れが子供服にあったんだなーと感じます。
1883年、軍艦の遠洋航海で169人が脚気を発病し23人が死亡した海軍では、パン・牛乳・肉・野菜の食事で脚気の発病を減らす。
1888年９月、安藤総領事は、青木外務次官へ提出したマウイ島移民の現況報告で、医師が米食を廃止するか減らしてパンや麦飯に代えたところ、脚気病は大きく減ったと伝えている。

右はバラの乙女、花の妖精といったとこでしょうか
徒歩と乗馬時の衣装の違い（1888年）
6年後ですが、昨日のアマゾンヌの騎乗姿と徒歩姿の差がわかる一枚を見つけました。
乗馬服は男性のテーラーから来ているためか、帽子も山高帽。女性用鞍だと、座乗位置も男性より高く、視野も確保できてそうです。
膝と腰を固定しているためか安定性も良さそう。
