It is not easy to handwave all the design inconsistencies of Baby DK compared to Cranky. different eyes, nose, and hair are not the same as a tongue being a different color.

Not to mention the Crsnky redesign happened prior to Konga 3, and there just wasn't a new 3D model yet.

The design of Baby DK is definitely based on Modern DK and not Cranky. The eyes are DK's eyes. The hair is DK's hair. And he has a flat nose, just like Modern DK did (Cranky at that time had a protruding nose).
