Among my favourite animals are - the 'fish lizards' - and it's always a joy to look at their fossils (we have many of them in the UK). So I _loved_ compiling current thinking on them for my new book Ancient Sea Reptiles, out now from and

...because it's pretty generic without them. The fossil record holds animals that are way more awesome, arresting and potentially scarier than 65's fictional creations and, in my mind's eye, I was watching a far superior version with animals like these...

hi

Collecting and finding fossils brings me joy, but in terms of creating it's seeing my characters realised both in prose and visual. I've become increasingly happier about how I depict Yara and the things she does https://t.co/tTexArLEoM

Wanted to play this one ever since the first demo dropped, but I just didn't get around to it until now

The Strawberry Bank Lagerstätte not only preserves relatively complete, articulated fossils but preserves them with 3D preservation, offering valuable insight into the anatomy of the animals in the ecosystem.

March 12, 1784, birthday of Victorian oddball, theologian & geologist William Buckland. He described the first as Megalosaurus in 1824 based on a fragmentarily preserved jaw.

If you wanted a Quadrupedal Carnivore Dinosaur, the Crystal Palace Megalosaurus was RIGHT THERE.
