One of the X-Men, Megan Gwynn hails from the town of Abergylid. Here she is celebrating her native with the Mari Lwyd!

Mari Lwyd (Grey Mare), a Welsh mid-winter folk tradition, where a decorated horse skull and her friends come to your house and challenge you to a rhyming duel of wits. When you lose, you let them in for food and drink (and a bit of mischief). Beautiful.

I've always wanted to make a holiday card to send to pals and loved ones. I was really inspired by Mari Lwyd and wanted to do something creepy and festive.

The Mari Lwyd, the "Gray Mare," Welsh winter custom; a hooded horse's skull carried on a pole, accompanied by stock character as its handlers. It wins entry to houses & pubs by outsinging their owners, whereupon it can come in, making merry & running rampant.
