Originating in ancient English folklore and later all over Europe & North America, a 'Will-o'-the-Wisp' is a ghost-like light seen by travelers at night, especially over bogs, swamps or marshes. #SwampSunday

"Follow Sméagol! He can take you through the marshes, through the mists, nice thick mists. Follow Sméagol very carefully, and you may go a long way, quite a long way, before He catches you, yes perhaps."

“Once in a great while he remembered that he had felt pain, a terrible ache in his heart, & he swore he would never let himself feel love for a human again.”— The Boggart, Susan Cooper
A boggart is an ogre like creature who haunts houses, fields & marshes.
Marshes and swamps have a lot of tall grass that sway this way and that~

@z_wolfe I wanna capture that "Hold onto anything" defiance in the face of the dying rust belt. The queer kids in the coal town, in the backwater bayou, in the salt marshes. And the dreamscape color palette plus the punk rough hand made aesthetic.
I went out recording the landscape in #Graveney before it’s changes irrevocably under solar panels Due to lock down this was a lonely but peaceful experience and immensely rewarding, it made me realise what a tranquil and special place I was working in.

Grendel and his mother lived in a marsh near the mead hall of king Hrothgar.
'Till the monster stirred, that demon, that fiend
Grendel who haunted the moors, the wild
Marshes, and made his home in a hell.'
