My main 2 problems are that the coloration looks too dull and muted on the quills for it to look like Super Sonic in my opinion, and the quills themselves look off and feels like there should be one more quill around the top left.

At first, I didn’t think much of the Baxcalibur line, but then I found out they were inspired by Concavenator, that also had a back spike thing, arm quills, and its fossils were found in SPAIN-

One way I look at Sonic's quills is from the angle taken when drawing fire and smoke. Poor drawing below for reference.

Would this fire & smoke hold this precise shape if it were brought into the real world? Likely not - this drawing simplifies the smaller details and nuances.

The super heated 'Long vs Short quill' debates are always funny to me cause it's one of the things that doesn't even have to be consistent, it's just hair

We know this cause they shave off Scourge's quills for prison and then he just looks like classic Sonic for the rest of it
