“Çok yalnızım... ve bu duygu, yalnızlığın ölüm olduğunu anladığın zaman daha da kötüleşiyor.”
-Andrei Tarkovsky
After reading the novel that Tarkovsky based Stalker on - Roadside Picnic by Arkady Strugatsky and Boris Strugatsky (1972) - I have to marvel at how Tarkovsky turned this simple Soviet era sci-fi story into a metaphysical masterpiece.
Hey! This is an experimental poster I did as a kickstart for a possible poster-oriented portfolio, and I’ve decided start with my very favorite movie of all times - “Stalker” by Andrei Tarkovsky. Please check my IG post for the whole story!

A book read by a thousand different people is a thousand different books.
- Andrei Tarkovsky -
Production stills from STALKER by Tarkovsky. After faulty film development ruined a years worth of filming, the Soviet film board tried to shut the film down. Tarkovsky re-filmed everything. "the finished version... is completely different from the one Tarkovsky originally shot"
Production stills from "Andrei Rublev", 1965-66. It would seem that Tarkovsky really liked taking the golden hour lighting to its full effect!
