Design update: In keeping with Welsh/Celtic mythology, Vera is now a Ceffyl Dŵr (shapeshfting water horse), Amanda's Trinity Knot now has the weave circle, and Frieda is now a Grwagged Annwn, which is a lake fairy

I’ve not found instances of a leader among the Welsh Gwyllion (mountain fairies). I think it makes sense for to give each subspecies of fairy a Chief. There's a legend of a gwyll called the Old Woman of the Mountain, & her being my Chieftess sounds appealing.

Beloved of the fairy King Gwyn Ap Nudd, Queen Creiddylad is often described both in mythology and in my story, as the most beautiful woman in the British Isles. To see the May Queen is to love her, for her eyes enchant all who see them.

In Welsh mythology, Gwyn Ap Nudd's the war torn king of the fairies. In he's 1 of at least 4 rulers that govern them together. He's joined by his wife Creiddylad, The Lady of the Lake (who leads lake fairies like Vera), and Queen Mab of the Ellyllon.

If Sal is the funny man, Lily is the cinnamon roll, and Amanda is their window to the Human World, Vera is definitely the big sister of squad. A big sister type who will keep your secrets and fight with you until the end.
