My favorite design of Sauron from Lord of the rings is Tolkien's goofy little watercolor doodle.
Another drawing inspired by Iceland, the amazing waterfalls, waves hammering the beaches of Vík í Mýrdal, and my love of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.
The waters of the sea consumes the grand civilization.

And to celebrate the Return of my Blog, a post about a possible folklore influence on part of Tolkien's Return of the King. I give you 'The Fairy Flag and the Paths of the Dead'! https://t.co/WkIu9IkpQr (art by Inger Edelfeldt)

Inspired by Tolkien's 'The Hobbit', the Folded series is about a woman out-of-place in a Northern Town, whose path crosses with a fantastic race and their King, and the deadly calamities they face. https://t.co/yRZtgDkWfW #WritingCommunity #amreading #book #BookBoost

@Iluvatarstheme Thematically as a hobby I do live readings of Tolkien's work while @helroddlux illustrates them. We have a blast doing it and small audience that keeps us company.

In a post apocalyptic future that appears as a blend of World War II Europe and J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth, a pint-size wizard named Avatar must save the world from a band of fascist mutants controlled by his evil twin brother, Blackwolf. #Wizards (1977) 🧙♂️🧚♀️

Great seminar with my history of illustration students this morning - a journey through 20th c. fantasy and SF imagery rounded off by a comprehensive analysis of #Tolkien's Conversation with Smaug (1937) featuring Mikhail Belomlinsky's snappy 1976 Russian version as a comparison
Just for fun, I recolored my Beleg's outfit based on Tolkien's illustration of him!
(This looks like a Player 2 Alt or something lol) https://t.co/5OKQrkbbdp
Such a cool similarity here!
L) JRR Tolkien's unfinished illustration depicting Sauron after the destruction of The One Ring
R) Ted Nasmith's "The Shadow of Sauron"
In #Tolkien's LotR Legolas sings the ballad of the Elven-maid Nimrodel, who lived near the eponymous river and falls close to Lothlórien. She disappeared and her mourning lover Amroth cast himself into the sea. Her voice is still echoed in Nimrodel's water music. #FairyTaleTuesday

I mainly draw VHV, a sci-fi/fantasy kitchen sink with a touch of Terry Pratchett's Discworld and a dash of Tolkien's Lord Of The Rings.
...And lots of furries!
Foto Fridays. Photographing completed work comes at the end of the week these days. A great way to bring closure to a painting and relax into the weekend.
