Windows 95 vs. PC-98 Windows 95: Bootscreen
Both store the startup .BMP in LOGO.SYS.
The BMP is 256 colors (VGA) at 320x200. This is then stretched to 640x400, with 20 colors for cycling.
PC-98's redrawn at 640x400, but with only 16 colors (out of 4096). 7 colors for cycling.

Testing my new Dreamcast VGA cable on the OSSC in 480p 2x mode. SA1 is looking crisp!
Since looking for those images refreshed my memory, here's a separate post just to appreciate the gorgeous close-ups in the VGA Monkey Island
@creedmes Tlou2 winning the VGA over FF7R, Animal Crossing, Hades, Doom, and Ghost of Tsushima:
@CortexsAussyPal People who still believe that Crash will be on smash after the VGA:
Now if I remember my dates right, this is one of the earliest examples of VGA (from 1986), released in 1988.
@rexthedogge @CthGodkiller I've got both the DOS and Amiga versions of it. It's the usual deal with pre-AGA Amiga stuff, where it feels like the graphics were designed for the full VGA colour palette, and cut down to 32 colours for the Amiga port. But both look good, all the same.

@Grimh_HS J'aime aussi beaucoup le résultat final même si, si on veut respecter la résolution et les couleurs EGA, c'était plutot ça (fait par Steve Purcell). Celle que tu as posté a été réalisé par un autre artiste pour la version VGA.
Thanks to @SQHistorian for informing me that the ega640.drv from INN is different from the ega640.drv in other games. I think it's preferable.
Of course, the VGA driver is most preferable.
So I was quite excited to get a hold of the "Art of Point and Click Adventure Games" until I learned that all of the early game art up to the VGA era are all featured in the uncorrected aspect ratio. There was also a bit of shoddy research done in the terminologies section. 😥
