Alfredo Alcala's Voltar title pages should hang in museums

There's Elric. Written, huge forerunner for dark fantasy and one of the Sword and Sorcery fathers. Is hard to not mention Conan on this, even Tolkien read it, some of the best artist of the silver age adapted it like Buscema and Alfredo Alcala. Same thing for Voltar and Requiem

I just tweaked the colors of Larry Alcala's old works just to visualize but if Larry Alcala were alive now, we would probably have a lot of fun art. 💗

If Alcala has a million fans, I am one of them.

If Alcala has ten fans, I am one of them.

If Alcala has no fans, that means that I am no longer on this earth.

If the world is against Alcala, I am against the world.

I love Alcala.

I also see a lot of Elric, huge influence for dark fantasy/sword and sorcery as a whole. Visually there's like Golden/Silver age masters like Hal Foster, Alfredo Alcala, Frazetta, Alex Nino and John Buscema too

Oh Yeah, you look at Buscema or Alfre Alcala work and you're like "oh boy he probably looked at this". Same thing with Elric, that crepid and morbid vibe of the first books really reminds everything that people love in Berserk and Dark Souls, etc

"He-Man: Spirit of the Castle" is my 22-page re-creation of the mini-comic classic "King of Grayskull's Castle" .

The original art on this page is by Alfredo Alcala.
