Saint Denis and Saint Piatus, Livre d'images de madame Marie, Hainaut or Brabant c. 1280-1290 (BnF, Nouvelle acquisition française 16251, fol. 84v). Perhaps contemplating how much fun they had in 2020?
Special thanks to @RabbyArt for putting up with everyone in BnF world for their secret Santa as I adore the picture I had gotten from my santee.
The anonymous illuminator of the 12th century BNF Latin 1654 and Paul Klee were equally fascinated by how colors play together. Eight hundred years might divide them but they were both just as creative and playful with their art. #MedievalManuscripts

The session of my Islamic book history seminar that was cancelled today would have focused on libraries in the pre-modern Islamic world. A thread on some of the topics we would have discussed.

Bit late to this but here’s a fun project I worked on lately with BNF Bank. These illustrations were made for International Women’s Day, printed on cards and distributed to BNF Bank employees. Each card can be personalised and given to the women in the sender's life.

40枚構成で、どのように使ったかは未調査。
ウェイト版を連想させなくもない絵も混じってはいるけれど更に世俗に塗れた感もあり。
これがウェイト版タロットの元ネタにならなくてよかったですねw
