Happy 80th birthday to that Master of Inks, Tom Palmer! He started as an illustrator, but soon discovered he delivered unbelievable finishes to Gene Colan, Neal Adams, John Buscema and more. How lucky were you to get him to complete your pencils? Hope he has a terrific day!

Tiger Shark!

The villain does not appear on very many covers, but when he does it is fairly memorable. Tiger Shark as designed by John Buscema is unique and striking. Roy Thomas and Buscema created the character and he first appeared in Sub-Mariner (1968).

Sal Buscema's (☝🤓-what I call) character's 'Arched Back Knock Back' is legendary.

But, I wonder how that YELP made its way onto Hulk's backhand of Mar-Vell.

🤔-YELP?

(🤣👍-He was in the process of saying the word 'help' in a sentence, but Hulk's backhand interrupted it.)

The last one was the hardest to identify, it looks really closely to the cover art of Sal Buscema

Mantlo's Hulk is completely savage, and has him left with no Banner inside him.

Buscema/Taloac fully embrace this with their art. Taloac's inks over Buscema's pencils add to the savagery and ferocity.

This has to be some of the best Hull v Thor action we've ever had. Wow.

Struggle with Buscema out. Lots of great images. I thought about those Mignola covers too. But I’m going with Zaffino. Back ups Truman, Adams, and Cary Nord with Dave Stewart. Corben did some but his were Conan’s grandad. Grrr

Happy 54th birthday, SILVER SURFER He made numerous appearances since his 1966 debut, but could he hold his own title? Yes, but for only 18 issues this time. Against soaring John Buscema vistas, Stan waxed eloquent on the follies of humanity. Even my brother bought a copy.

- Similarly, the head and haircut here looks like an homage to the way John Buscema drew her, like in this floating head from the cover of issue 160. Correct me if I'm wrong!
