Focal Point -Artistic development:
My art from 2018-now (still being finished) combines my previous periods (the improvised '04 works; colour/spontaneity/lushness of '05-6 Cyprus works; 2016 geometric works; '13-'18 collaged relic works -see 4 pics👇) into a coherent language.
The first of my collaged creatures, finished five years ago to the day. I don't think words exist to describe how glad I am to have taken up this medium half a decade ago. Here's to another five years and more, I suppose!

The English writing on this illustration ("Liquitex Color" "Kern Drawing Instruments") show these were collaged elements from an art materials catalogue. The book theme of the illustration is because this was the frontispiece for the first Urusei Yatsura novel.

This is one of a series of prints of one of the ubiquitous and wildly successful trilobites, prehistoric creatures which lived for hundreds of millions of years, carved by hand in linoleum, printed onto lovely Japanese washi papers and collaged with papers in different colours.
Ailish Henderson stitches sweet wrappers, tickets, collected papers and even bits of her own clothing into her collaged portraits.
