Morning lockdown birders. Today's is the one most close to my heart, the Curlew. Born & raised in Haworth (100 years away from the Brontes & 10 miles away from Ted Hughes) I wandered the moors listening to 'the curlew’s tear turned its edge on the silence' . xx

Was really looking forward to surveying the Northumberland Curlews this Spring, just have to hope that a silver lining might be a good breeding year with the moors being undisturbed, watercolour sketch. Take care all

My Dartmoor foals Swift and Curlew now age 13. Painted this early in the morning fighting anxiety. Doing art combats anxiety as it engages our creative intellect which then pushes anxiety away

I often despair over watercolour, but sometimes rejoice - this started as a Curlew 🤔 but then an Eider emerged! Calling it “Eider on an icy sea” 😉 It tells me best results when subconscious takes over, just let paint wander. Many thanks for the feedback, have a good night all👍

the land shuns hope
that frail life beyond grasping
so cries the curlew

Wimped out going out (again) so out with the paints. Still on the snow theme, a Heron in an icy landscape, w/colour, and a Curlew at the coast, blustery conditions I imagine today.
Have a great week all, many thanks for interest in the artwork 👍
