now that i know a bit more about photography, whenever i see mid-century illustrators' photo reference i am very aware of how they would use hasselblads (etc) and large, tonally superb negatives that give you much better material than an entry-level DSLR or a phone would

Been watching a lot of 's videos/streams recently. The camping & train surfing in the woods live stream with all the wonderful cinematic DSLR shots of Desmond gave me the sudden urge to paint! Tried out a new way of painting, super happy with how they came out!
