OCtober Day 2: Last OC

I thought Avril the clown fish girl was my most recent character until I remembered I made more. So here's Ghisagi-chan the stereotypical anime bunny-girl, Ghistan Lee and Thaddus Maddus (uh... He's not dead!).

The original Bros. manual has some really fun artwork. Check out Mario’s old-school swagger as he flings fireballs. And look at those eyes when he gets a Super Star!

OK Boomer..

"Never judge a warrior by his cover. Boomer is cute and a bit on the pink side. But on the inside, he's all fight."

Unfortunately the 1991 GB sequel for Boomer's Adventure was never released outside of Japan. Boomer's is known as Asmi-kun in Japan.

III spent 6045 days being a Japanese-only exclusive, from April 27th, 1990 until Nov 14th, 2006, when the 3D remake was released in North America.

The only way to experience the original version in other languages is with fan-translated ROMs.

A bit of trivia about 2(JP):

The lead coder, an Iranian-American, was forced to return to the US halfway through production due to an expired JP work visa. The dev team followed & finished the game from the the US. The same thing happened during FF3 too!

You're able to strategically pick the type of players on your team, but I always end up picking four big fat guys for their extra powerful shooting skills

A tale of two manuals.

Who wore it better?

Left: A page from the 1988 Japanese Famicom "Rockman 2" manual
Right: Two pages from the 1989 "Mega Man 2" NES manual

The 1986 Famicom Disk System manual for is BEAUTIFUL and has really fun drawings of Simon Belmont all throughout. I combined some in one image for easy viewing.

The NES manual is a disgrace. Doesn't mention Simon's name or story, and has no pics of him.
