Daily chara 67 - the Red Druid

Powerful Druids in the Nexile Realms usually represent a forest's desire to grow and flourish, but the Red Druid represents the Great Baldur Forest's rage and grief. Their mortal body has become twisted, having lost their humanity to hate.

Lamentation over the Dead Christ (c1490) is a powerful image of grief. In this work the painter puts every ounce of his faith into one image. The painting confronts us with both the belief & the genius of the Italian artist.

“It's so curious: one can resist tears and 'behave' very well in the hardest hours of grief. But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed... and everything collapses. ”

at the threshold of my eyes,
tears change the mood...
somedays they come with joy,
often they are friends to my grief.
my face
the portrayal of my mind;
my heart carries a burning ember
and soul longing for rescue...
will you lead me to bliss?

the 31 days are officially over and I want to thank you all.
I know this is cliché or whatever, but I actually feel grateful
these past months have been tough, for me like for everyone else here, after all
we've all had to deal grief. no matter how many times you experience it, +

forgot to post here but I finished my comic a bit ago and I found a lot of catharsis, and honestly a whole lot of pain navigating the complexity of grief. I hope to share more details about its release soon 💚

35 is my favorite so far. I got to play with language and lettering, and mix in some sweet moments with tinges of grief.

tw: death, gore, horror

This etching by Käthe Kollwitz haunts me since I saw it as a teen.
The way the mother tries to hold her child as close as possible desipte it being long beyond saving speaks to such unfathomable grief.

Wonderful, horrible thread, by the way. https://t.co/sXwQ8jo6uc

Who would have thought me painting swastikas on kkk outfits would cause all this grief. You'd think IGG would be able to seperate art and politics.

True art brings us joy as poignant as grief.

Today is my Grandmother's Viewing. I lost my Dad not long ago & didn't move from the couch for 6mths, barely showered, didn't work, ate too much. This time I'm trying to not lose myself in grief. Grateful for art, it's kept me sane. 💜

My initial point in making art is to 'conceal' grief. I lost my beloved father and my fam member. It was a very tough time for me. So I tried to express my grief through art. I use brightness and colorful color to conceal the sorrow behind it. it's the only way to escape reality

In this moment, Shin Yoosung realized the real meaning of what she said. Being lost among worlds. Losing her loved ones. Nevertheless, living in that world again. There was only one person in this world who understood her grief.
