Over on my Instagram I’ve been taking part in #MarchMeetTheMaker where I’ve been uploading daily techniques, processes and a bit more background to my work! Let me know if you’re also taking part 😊

I've kept the lid on this for countless years but today I'm ripping it off for the world to see. I present to you a confession for today's #Marchmeetthemaker prompt which is Close Up.

Today's #marchmeetthemaker we are talking about branding! A while back I painted this fox (I have an old video on my YT channel). It has become the logo of my brand. I also painted a plant pattern you see on this bg. These two are on all my branding & represent what I do.
Branding: Only recently I’ve decided to give my little business a bit of a makeover with my logo. I felt that it was getting a bit dated and wasn’t really suiting my current illustration style ✏️

Day Four- Branding
#MarchMeetTheMaker
Salty, Sweet, Sugar and Spice are my brand, more or less! They’re all aspects of my moods/personality and therefore are all me. But I figured they’d look cluttered together so I just use individual pictures for social media.
Day Three- Time
#MarchMeetTheMaker
I'm that cliche where I've been drawing ever since I could scribble on walls. Looking back, art was how I expressed myself as I had no confidence in getting my words across. So I guess it made sense that I would use it to make some coin!
Sod it. After much deliberation I've decided to participate in #Marchmeetthemaker after all. It's not that I was striving not to, it's just that I'm never aware when these social media exercises are scheduled and only find out too late.

#marchmeetthemaker day 2: hands at work! ❤️
-
When packing pins I go through each one and inspect them to make sure they are all good quality. Then I place each pin on a backing card. This is probably the most tiring part of my little business but it's sooo important! 💕
Watch these fancy hands at work for Day 2 of #marchmeetthemaker. You may have noticed that my fingers can be pretty messed up at times. I tend to tear at them without thinking when I’m anxious or needing to stim. So I try to keep my hands busy as much as possible. 😅
Hey everyone. This year I’ll be taking part in #MarchMeetTheMaker for the first time. The prompt for today is story. My story is fairly simple, Seren Sketches started back in 2015 after I took part in 28 Drawings Later for the first time. I hadn’t drawn for five years after...
#MarchMeetTheMaker | 30 'Support': The absolute key piece of the puzzle for pursuing this journey of being an artist has to be support. From family, friends, fellow artists and of course buyers and followers. Thank you all, it really does mean a lot! #support

Today's #MarchMeetTheMaker prompt is "Most Difficult Make." I'm not sure which has been my overall most difficult to make, but this recent painting I just finished did spring to mind (perhaps because it's still fresh in my head).
Today for #marchmeetthemaker I'm talking about the hardest thing to make, over on my Instagram @ emilypainting
.
The base of the little finger on this one and walking away from paintings that aren't working
#marchmeetthemaker Day 29 #mostdifficult Big paintings showing all the cottages in Staithes, painting cobles, pen and ink drawings and Lino cuts as you have to reverse the image. I like the challenge though. It is like working out a problem. Nice when you get to the end.
Hello! Sorry for the silence and falling off the #MarchMeetTheMaker parade. I noticed one of the days I missed had the prompt 'self care'. I guess that is why I have not posted for almost a week. I needed a little break from Instagram. It has been a bus… https://t.co/fmBoTrtdzS
#MarchMeetTheMaker | 24 'Customer feedback': I often find it hard to describe my work with words, and love to hear what people see. Some of my favourite feedback received so far: 'like a memory or dream; captures feeling; human; honest; tender'. Thank you! #customerfeedback
Evening @HandmadeHour here is my #marchmeetthemaker post from yesterday. It seems to have struck a chord with people, so sharing here for you! #HandmadeHour #youareworthit #heytheremaker
