In the midnight echoes of forgotten time
I fought the lure of sin
To gain knowledge I hungered for
Despite the serpent’s grin
I savored the taste of an apple so ripe
Warnings I did shun
The battle between good & evil
Has only just begun

I hope you remember me,
that you look at the sunrise
each morning
& see the color yellow,
a summer dress,
the twirl of the breeze
at its hem,
where koi fish danced
with only us,
& where,
even the sunset
couldn’t steal it.

I build castles
in the sky
of my mind,
tall & grandiose,
full of I-wills
& nothing-can-stop-mes
until I think,
& then I hear
the snickering clock,
staccato against
my imagination
like a hammer
rusting in the rain,
dust tosettle
with the clouds
that cover the birds

She picked up a wash cloth and moved her hair to her back and one of her tits spilled out of the robe. Without premeditation, I slapped her right breast.
