Did a super quick doodly painting to practice using values properly. Halftones, average light and dark, ambient lighting and occlusion... it's a lot to keep track of! But I'm getting the hang of it.

I baked ambient occlusion and normal maps out of sculpted high-poly detail for the furless parts (face, paws), and ofc did another non-final fur test.

Also, he's got slit-pupil monster eyes now!

i did my due diligence and did a renderer with a regular clean lighting model.

first pass dot product lighting approximation, a little ambient kick, fake ambient occlusion and hard shadows. (with, of course, unreal color grading because it's me)

I used the ambient occlusion baking technique to assist with the texture shading. Looks pretty nice, and it also saved me the headache of manually shading the fingers! Next is clothes!
