In my opinion, the items are what separates "Nerds" from "Ultra Nerds"

They're unique Nerd traits that stack over most others

Meaning 2 Nerds could have identical outfits, haircuts, etc. but if one's got a Chem-X...

Have a strong urge to draw a kylux/Made in Abyss crossover, with Armie and Ben wearing cave raider outfits, Armie being a Blue Whistle (or Moon?) and Ben a Red Whistle.
