Paintovers of Final Fantasy screenshots I did a long while back for digital painting studies. Need to go back and do some real fan art especially since I still adore Balthier in FF 12 after all this time.

Here's a few of the Gobblerton building designs from Karamelle. Most of these are just quick paintovers, where gobblers have eaten parts of the structures.

Lots of these are quick paintovers to try and show how we could change existing levels to add more depth and atmosphere.

Finished this one

Lol I ask for white background but when I take the picture I don’t even use it...ugh

Crummy photo to “show” the miniature because of harsh lighting, but for paintovers it can work great.

Basement flooded, been a long couple days! Not apocalyptic damage but still a lot of work. So didn’t get anything really done on art or paperwork side.

Some paintovers!

Starting the arduous process of getting all the paintovers off Ipad.

Going to start trying to credit the model painter in all the tweets. Do you think I should tag them or just put names on the pics themselves? Or tag them in attached tweet?

I like screenshot paintovers because the composition/pose is right there and I don't have to think about it
Here are some screenshots I like and might paint someday. Share yours if you have them

Yone model paintovers by Esben Lash. He worked with Hunter Gage, Yone's character artist, to see how far they were able to push his 3D model https://t.co/UCjMCPGIV7

I work primarily in 3D, but as an environment artist specializing in lookdev, I try to be at least semi-competent at doing my own concepts. I rely heavily on blockouts in unreal and then paintovers.

I did something a little different:
Fixing old art with rough paintovers + Liquify filter!

I don't plan to redraw these completely or anything, it just serves for understanding reoccuring mistakes. ^^

It's oddly satisfying to do btw, try it yourself~

This is really cool of you! Always looking for how to push things further.
Will you be posting the paintovers or just keeping them private? Really looking forward to see them!

That's me! I still do know how to work in that 3rd dimension, even though I usually only do so for paintovers these days. https://t.co/xtaYLGK5iI
