I love how you can see the evolution of the pokeballs between just these two. The gray one is Sam Oak's pokeball from the Pokémon 4ever movie. Anything that adds more depth to the pokemon world is great.

This mewtwo keeps growing and shows no sign of stopping! Their weight gain makes them much easier to hit with a pokeball, but this cat would eat you at the drop of a hat. Just imagine how fast they'd eat you if you dared to try and catch them!

TL;DR: they’re these little things found in trees and they’re hollowed out and turned into pokeballs. They come in many colors. Though this is the previously known method, I think modern pokeballs are made with metals.
