Tool seems useful for starting and getting an idea of shading.

(2) On the contrary, this piece from July '22, that I entered into a competition. This one, I played with vector lineart and cel shading. GOOD: There's much more depth and perspective. His pose is rad. BAD: It's still flat, and the shading's a mess. Muzzle is wack, so's his hand.

Definitely, a part where I used different colours rather than just a darker shade of the same colour for shading.
And instead of drawing black lines all the time, I now use a darker shade of the filling colour.

Something I tend to have fun doing is using a limited palette that naturally has some colors that 'ramp' into each other and using that for shading. I gravitate towards it a lot on personal stuff but rarely in comms. I should make it easier for ppl to say "do my comm like that"!
