Our last paper is out: “An update of the #spinosaurid (Dinosauria: Theropoda) fossil record from the Lower #Cretaceous of the Iberian Peninsula: distribution, diversity, and evolutionary history” by @efmalafaia et al in Journal of Iberian Geology

@glacier_clear basically any spinosaurid is my fav but mostly the spinosaurus uwu, not the jp one the nubby leg one with a paddle tail <3
@MetTiinA Maybe some of the extinct animals of Spec? Like the Eocene spinosaurid (I guess that could be another type of dinosaur).
@TwistHound Everything from the spinosauridae family but specifically, I'd pick Ichthyovenator.
A subadult #Spinosaurus wanders into the territory of a larger, more aggressive male and faces the consequences. Haven't seen much palaeoart of intraspecific fights featuring spinosaurids so this was fun to draw.

More memes instead of palaeoart, I'm totally not procrastinating.
But for real, spinosaurids are the best and if you disagree you suck and are also wrong 😤😤😤 https://t.co/9mDBVj8EWP
So yeah, I decided to hop on the bandwagon with some of my friends and made a dinosona too (a spinosaurid, to be exact)
Nothing special here, just an absolute nervous mess of a dinosaur (like me) lol
And had you heard of Angela Milner, who alongside Alan Charig named Baryonyx, a fossil that changed our view of the spinosaurid dinosaur family? Join Angela as she explains the importance of this fish-eating predator’s discovery

So coming into part 2 of the PRIDE dinosaurs series is the popular Spinosaurid, Baryonyx representing the non-binary flag
Quick sketch of #Cristatusaurus lapparenti during a misty morning, with some speculative filaments and a fanciful head crest. #paleoart #spinosaurid #dinosaurart #naturalhistory #digitalpainting #theropod #palaeontology
Irritator, a Spinosaurid who got its name from the irritating hours it took paleontologists to fix the tampered skull they got from fossil poachers.
(Credit Fred Wierum)
More material of Irritator was discovered giving insight on its appearance where it even had a sail, akin to other spinosaurids. Irritator was estimated to have measured 20 to 26 feet in length and weighed 1 ton, making it a small spinosaurid. Art by @FredtheDinoman
Morning sketches, chonky-asaurus spinosaurid. #spinosaurid
The virgin Tyrannosaurids: Some were big and bulky, some were slender and fast, but overall the same concept.
The chad Spinosaurids:
Skeletal diagram of Ichthyovenator laosensis I created for its @Wikipedia article. Yep! Turns out that like its later relative #Spinosaurus, Ichthy also had a tail fin! Definitely been a great year for spinosaurid palaeontology 📖. #sciart #fossils #dinosaurs #paleontology
