this chunky thing is AC1 with fiberglass on styrofoam. It weighs only 5 kg and is the master test for the roadside sculptures. When laminated 4x (this is only 2x) and varnished this will stand sun, snow and storm and even people sitting on it.

first detail sketch and wood base for the bed! didn’t have bar soap or styrofoam to rough out a reference for the bed so i just whittled some bread i had in the kitchen cabinet. bread didn’t hold detail very well, 4/10

Fellow artists, what's something that you're a stickler for when you're looking at other ppl's cartoons?

Me: it drives me up the wall when someone can't draw faces. When the faces look OFF as hell in a cartoon. It's like nails on styrofoam, I'm dying squirtle

Paperclay is really useful for sculpting on top of other materials. It can be sanded, so it’s is great for filling seems and fixing imperfections in rigid materials like styrofoam and worbla on props and stiff armor. No good for anything that needs to be flexible though.
