AMABIE is a legendary Japanese mermaid who lives in the open sea.
It went on to deliver a prophecy:
“…if disease spreads, show a picture of me to those who fall ill and they will be cured."
Afterward, it returned to the sea.

I wanted to try a different design for Amabie! if you haven't heard, she's a yokai whose image prevents disease in Japanese folklore. Japanese artists are drawing her for good luck/morale. you can see other interpretations in this hashtag!
