Cool! I have a similar concept in my AU Tikal fanfic! I have the Chaos Emeralds act like the LOTR Ring. The more you use it, the more the darkness consumes you, since a bit of Chaos is in each emerald. To hold it back, my OC Oni needs enchanted bracelets.
