I’ve been trying to redesign Golden Freeza for ages. I really hated the original RoF and Super design... But then Shintani went and did it for me. It looks so much more authentically Freeza now. Just look at those poses and expressions. The slight color shift worked wonders too.

After rereading the Namek arc I've found a new love for Shintani's Freeza design. It's so perfectly able to capture how Toriyama drew him and I can't get over how great he looks.

They kept playing around with the hair for a little bit after Super Saiyan Full Power became a thing, but it wasn't nearly as fun as in the Freeza and mid-Cell arcs.

And then, they mostly kept it static and 'on-model', which is boring.
