trying to figure out my clem and gus humanizations, and just how i wanna humanize flatlanders in general. i’d been either drawing them completely in color or completely in grayscale, but i kinda like the natural skin and hair tones with gray clothing, seems like a happy medium

I tried the grayscale shading technique, but her skin just ended up looking dead all the time and the features I need are behind a paywall, so traditional shading method it is. I like the traditional way more tho, because I can be messy. RIP my paint program tho.

7. Rubberpand has a unique mallet: it's made of bamboo, and does not she her grayscale palette. She nibbles on it a lot.

Taking a break from laying in value to mess around with gradient maps and hue layers to theoretically bring the painting into full color
