Portrait of Lady Illingworth, Philip Alexius de László

Not as flashy or animated as a Boldini portrait, this portrait suggests poise amid a froth of whirling gown.

Madame Eugene Doyen, 1910, Giovanni Boldini

Boldini was an expert in adorning the feminine form with swish and flair, glimmer and bling. Those graceful hands are fabulous.

Elizabeth Wharton Drexel, 1905, Giovanni Boldini

Boldini's portraits typically depict society women in spectacular dresses that literally "steal the show." The feminine hands were lithe and prissy. I love the squirmy dog contrasting this elegant lady.
