So, I don't really have any character related art from 2009. I started drawing seriously in 2017.

2017: I knew nothing about construction or anatomy. I was referencing badly and stiffly. knew nothing about lighting or color theory either.

2009 vs 2019 Art Comparison

Other than feeling more confident with anatomy and detail, as well as using ink to make details pop, I don't feel like there is a massive shift from 2009. I need to get into digital art.

I didn't draw much for myself in 09. It was mostly commissions. That was the year I forced myself to improve by creating a bunch of new OCs which was probably the best thing from that year. This year I REALLY pushed to improve & draw even more.

Did a redraw of an old drawing I did on copy paper with colored pencils in 2009. I had (and still have) a thing for Red Riding Hood 👀❤️

Oh apparently I did that meme wrong--you're supposed to redo an art from 2009. Well in that case here we go with this cowboy. Ivan Kromsky's carriage painting inspired this one 10 years ago, so I decided to try and pull it back to that OG color scheme.

This was the only piece I could find from 2009. I used to draw with a mouse on a school demo of photoshop I carried on a flash drive on a public computer at a library.
