Learning how to strike a balance with detail. I'm super inspired by the way @ged_adamson layers his illustrations, leaving room for imagination. My brain fills in any blanks, & what's more convincing to my brain than my brain? Revisiting this spread with that idea.🙂

‘The River Hodder, Inn at Whitewell’ A very loose landscape on the easel today. You might think this isn’t my usual style but I painted landscapes similar to this many years ago. I wanted to regress and revisit my techniques and see how far I’d come. I loved it!!!

I started this piece in 2020, got really stuck with it, and didn't revisit it until today when I finished it in like an hour. Sometimes you just need some space from a piece I guess!
Sometimes i draw concepts that I'm really not happy with. I usually wait a couple days. Revisit it, flip it around, and most of time it actually becomes something i can work with and dish out.
