I'm still a little uncomfortable with the monochrome settings change the quality of the brushes, but I think it will look good once I start inking, adding the little details and tones.

When doing the shadows, I made sure to draw everything in blobs and chunks to look like they were done with paint brushes.

You can see the different in coloring styles between FLCL and FLCL: Progressive.

now i have an iPen and use Adobe Fresco ✨
