@dayofpi It's quite simple.
The Mini Marios tracked down E Gadd and made him upgrade each and every single one of them.
So after years of crying, suffering, and pain from the poor Professor's hard work, the Mini Marios became Big Marios.
Then were like "fuck yeah balloons, let's get em"
Percy is next to get an upgrade! He's not quite as good as the others because hair options are limited for him, but I still think he looks quite good

As a bonus, our robot bodies are much more convincingly human after a few upgrades. But enough 'borg that Skynet won't murder us. Hopefully.
