It's kinda complicated but all the human characters including Volnutt in mml are artificial humans called Carbons.

They can replace their limbs and body parts with robotic parts, and they can reattach with regular ones again if they want to.

Because of his size Heart can only fly about 5 miles before needing to rest and he requires a running start aswell. He's actually fast for his size too.
However, for anthro I don't draw him with wings because he looks better without them, so they're replaced with tattoos.
