Here's a little art tip I was told from my friend. When drawing ocs with dark hair, use red colors to shade the hair instead of pure black. It looks nicer ^^. Here's an example with my blind baby willow.

Haha, love tubba blubba! Mostly I just pushed the tortuga into the bg some more, but have a bit of sparkle to his eye and some drool. Also darkening the foreground helps with depth! And as a tip for shadows, the darkest part is usually along the middle, when lit above and below.

[QUICK TIP] here is a print of may hair shader. With Redshift render you can use the hair position node to mask out regions of the hair.

Used it to layer different incandescent materials.
