Born in Germany in 1874, Leyendecker was considered one of the best illustrators of the 20th century.
The man in the 4th image is known as the Arrow Collar Man, most likely modelled after his boyfriend.
The Lesson (1874), Charing Cross Bridge (1874), Meadow (1875) & Sand on the Quayside, Port-Marly (1875). The Lesson is unusual in his oeuvre in showing figures inside. Most of his work is dedicated to the landscape.

1.-The four seasons, by ©Elisabeth Sonrel, (1874-1953). She was a French painter and illustrator in the Art Nouveau style. She adopted Pre-Raphaelite manners after a trip to Florence and Rome when discovered the Reinassance painters.
