i think my only problem is the fact that it's so blended the effect of young versus old is lost so it gives his face an uncanny effect (i totally get why a line isnt there tho, they WERE going for a blended style, it's just not for me)

imo i think the line helps TREMENDOUSLY

I only started doing color sketches recently, that's what saved me from hours of color correction in the final stages, and be more brave with my color palette
Don't worry about mess, the more mess the more colors blended together, and you might find them useful

I really love the composition of the piece and the lineart is really strong. That said, I think that the shading might be a bit over blended. using my old art as an example for comparison, I find that having overall sharper shading tends to look a bit more refined

I finished RECKLESS last night. I really enjoyed that. It blended elements of JACK REACHER and THE EQUALISER and gave it all a Brubaker/Phillips twist. It might actually be my favourite of any Brubaker/Phillips comics I've read, apart from MAYBE the very best CRIMINAL stories.
