Off the bat - you need to use reference for everything. The wolf anatomy, human anatomy, environment, and lighting.
As for the dropped torch, ask yourself - who dropped it? Does it add to the piee/story, and why?
Personally, I encourage you to keep it simple.

Getting this girl a glow-up. We are currently playing with adding some subtle fur patterning around the eyes and help her read better with in-game lighting. Made some additional adjustments around the mouth area as well. Def feeling cuter imo
