Read the first two entries of my new series "Rendering like it's 1996?".

Goal: implement common software rendering techniques from the 90ies, but with a 20ies mindset and C99. 1 article per week.

This is where we're at.

Practice time this month. Been hard at work trying some new shading and lighting techniques, and wanted to fine tune Lief's bodyshape. Been feeling blocky for a while now, and wanted it to flow better personally. Also first time painting a background like this.

I actually love it! It makes my art really pretty and I use it to study techniques :] though, I do hate that it whitewashes literally everything. I wish it was trained on more people with different coloured skin ://

The last few days I've been doing color warm-ups in the morning or at lunch. I'm trying to expand my techniques a little in hopes of banking more color work. Today I used a Nightwing drawn by the immensely talented Bruno Redondo.

Spent a few hours testing/practising with different brushes and random art techniques.

Since my brain is empty a subject, I decided to just do a fanart of my favourite VTuber, @/rajka_apple

What do you think?

Heyo thanks for this! I make primarily anthro art and I like to experiment with different styles and techniques!

Lineart stage is going strong. Super smooth, and thick as we do here. This might be the most simple original character i've done this year, but I still love her<3

Trying some new techniques with the hair, so you'll have to wait and see for that part.

idk how much ive "improved" exactly, but ive spent this year being more willing to experiment and try out new styles/techniques! the latest piece was actually painted in clip instead of the usual sai! https://t.co/iin0sAxRg9

April 2022 vs October 2022

Learned a lot of techniques this year + art looks a bit more dynamic and proportional I guess!

Most importantly, went back to my semi-chibi art roots. https://t.co/GFhaWojkeB

Trying out new techniques to save time, kinda messy but I think I'm on to something. Oni girl btw, technically "Monster"

Also if she looks like Makima, I didn't think about it until its nearly done 😅

New Valentine concept!!! I'm very proud of this one because I think I improved my illustration techniques! Hope you like it too! Likes and RT are very welcome! If you have a name for her, put it in the comments! Thanks!

‘Behind The Sale’ on

Just apply new styles and techniques. So inspired by HRVB's style on the wall, he was great graffiti artist.

And why is it tittled 'Behind The Sale'? Idk, I often give tittles when my art is done, and it's still related I guess.
