Side note: Had a small crisis a while back after I realized that my hair parts in the opposite direction in mirrors than when people see it. Dunno why, but that threw me off a bit. Probably the most accurate I've drawn my hair, although the cowlick goes the other way.

Started off with the dark, stormy kinda colors, but couldn't fit in a purple I really liked, sooooo
Went the opposite direction, and landed with a sunny yellow I absolutely adore, that I think reflects her personality ☀️⚡️

nah but for real I ususally make two sketches, the second one being more specific. The first one is mainly to determine layout, mood, and which direction the characters should be facing etc.
