Off the bat - you need to use reference for everything. The wolf anatomy, human anatomy, environment, and lighting.
As for the dropped torch, ask yourself - who dropped it? Does it add to the piee/story, and why?
Personally, I encourage you to keep it simple.

Atmospheric drawings are,often times a not overly dynamic pose but as said the atmosphere of the drawing,the lighting of the sun affecting how the character is shaded interaction with the environment ,the feeling is what you focus on,like a background in the night, the sun rising

I find it really fascinating how easily you can differentiate these shows from backgrounds alone, despite it being from the same studio.
