IMO, Fantasy Zone II DX is a game that deserves much more love than it usually gets for being one of the most polished remakes even made and arguably M2's best work. They literally created a PS2 game that also works with 's old System 16 arcade board.

Imo, one of the most insteresting ways to evolve was the obligatory trade (Karrablast/Shelmet). If traded between them, Sloflake and Shride become Placailoon and Danshragant respectively.

Several of them really are so different than their early versions. I'm already used to Scourge, but Miles is the most drastic one imo, it's hilarious to me that these are the same character apparently.
