finally making refs of my dr ocs...in a blocky style for my sanity 😏 boy I wonder what their talents are
I had to try something so I thought to use @HatohuiAzuku's fox sona from a while back as reference. My proportions are a bit strange and the face is still a bit blocky, but it's getting better.
idm the redesign outfit but not a fan of how modern gens phased out the blocky faces :((
his hunkular energies: depleted .,
Due to the software, I approach stuff simply, can't go mad with layers, no blending modes or clipping masks. I'll do a wee blocky palette if ref'ing photos and keep in the corner to sample rather than having the photo in the BG so it is more its own thing https://t.co/69KStQoR7G
Lavals' aesthetic is so cool. Their blocky style is really unique and recognizable.
Here is a choppy blocky animation that was gonna be used as a funny, but never needed to exist...

The story in this one is that the two heroes mentor is capture by a Wither and they have to go rescue him. I do like the creators more expressive style having ONLY the characters be normal while the world is blocky.
art vs roblox avatar (blocky shoulder mmmm)
i'm sort of addicted to this style now lol

Tried a more blocky/jagged style with my two podcast characters! Check out @WyvernsWeirdos for details on our Curse of Strahd campaign where you can meet Fall

⠀⠀⠀⠀❝ excuse my ignorance but, what in the world is minecraft? and why some of the fishes in the sea are taking rather blocky shapes these days? is it new specie or a new fish bots models? ❞
Went back to my painty roots for this one and i really enjoyed drawing all these sharp blocky shapes! I’ll have to get around to painting again soon, I’ve converted back to line art and layered rendering some months ago. This was a dtiys entry for @zhoartu

@matt_muns Official art of characters who were blocky in their original games vs official art of Steve. It’s clear that being blocky was purely a console limitation, while for Minecraft, it’s a core design element.
