Gabriel Alcala is an illustrator living in Miami, Florida who occasionally produces a nudist-themed print. Night Swimming and Endless Vacation are a couple of our favorites. Check out his site, https://t.co/8vdqDvM9Bn.

I know I've gone on about this before, but as a kid, this scene from Tales Of The Zombie genuinely gave me nightmares for weeks. I hated Alcala, 'cos his work was terrifying. Now, of course I can see what a master he was, but wherever you are, Alfredo, thanks for the fear!😱

To me, Alcala will always be associated with the original minicomics. His art blew my 7-year-old mind.

—Batman A Day in the Life by Doug Moench, Gene Colan, and Alfredo Alcala.

“Slinking back to his shadowed sanctum after a very long night patrol, the Batman feels like a candle burnt at both ends with little remaining in the middle and all of it sagging.”

Laaaaate post but thankful for winning this year's PBBY Alcala prize! My art still looks like it belongs to comics rather than book illustration but AAAHH dreams coming true✨

I can tell that you have thought about this and I love that.👍 But I really like Alfredo Alcala work on He-Man because he always makes him look so badass and I love the boot knife. Because I've always thought that it would be used as a last resort and to skin meat.
